FREDERICKSBURG REGIONAL GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

Our Society was organized in August, 1993.  Our goals are to:

bullet Promote fellowship and cooperation between beginner and professional genealogists.
bullet Collect, preserve, and disseminate genealogical knowledge and information.
bullet Instruct members about research methods and standards.
bullet Encourage the preservation of genealogical records and resources in the Fredericksburg area.

Our Society offers the following benefits:

ANCESTOR INDEX:  We encourage members to submit their ancestors' names, dates, and locations to this index.  We e-mail or mail this index to our members at the beginning of each year.

NEWSLETTER:  We e-mail or mail our members a quarterly newsletter containing Society news, research tips, local records, humor, and queries.  We encourage members to submit articles and queries for publication in our newsletter.

MEETINGS:  We hold monthly meetings (except July & December) on the second Wednesday of each month at the Salem Church Library in Fredericksburg.  This meeting includes a roundtable discussion, Society business, and a topic presentation.

LIBRARY:  We maintain a library of genealogical research aids that can be checked out by our members (local only).
